Parties

I'm posting now as I don't think I'll have time later. Boy is it hot today! I went outside to take care of my ducks and nearly melted! Hopefully I'll get to stay in the cool airconditioning today.

So, today's plans. I'm going to be helping pack most of the day. Do some laundry and watch the baby while my mom is running errands. I found out that when your preparing to go on vacation, a few days before you leave, there is suddenly nothing to eat in the house! Lunch will probably be water, a peach cup and a piece of ham on bread! Maybe some chip crumbs.

It's Becky's this time. And I'm spending the night at her house afterwards so we can clean up our history project, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon. We're going to stay up really late and have a blast watching movies and stuff! I'm excited!

Tomorrow I'll be at home most of the day. We'll be packing the car and I'll be taking my ducks to Shannon's in the afternoon. Then it's Sunday and we go to church in the morning. After church we're leaving!!! I can't wait! Hopefully my dad will take his laptop so I can keep this up to date while we're gone. My days in Florida will be much more interesting than my days are here.

Ok, before I leave, I had two thoughts this morning. One, I'm a senior in high school!!!! One more year until college!! Two, my hair is getting longer!!

Preparation

Phew! What a week so far. With all the hustle and bustle before we leave, things are very busy at Maple Grove! Time to get up to speed though.

Monday went well. See What I've Done Night was a hit to all the grandparents and parents who came! But of course who doesn't want to see their kid sing and dance and play piano in front of people. The best act was my brother Garrett and his two friends' piano trio. That was awesome! After it was over, I went to Shannon's yet again. But this time there were less people there. We stayed up late again and I stayed Tuesday for singing lessons.

Now we're to Tuesday. After singing lessons I came home and hung out around the house. I was so tired so I pretty much watched a movie and read. Then my dad came home and after dinner, the family went out for ice cream and rented two movies: Bedtime Stories and Bride Wars. They were pretty good. Bedtime Stories was my favorite.

On to Wednesday. We spent the whole day cleaning the house and getting stuff together for the trip. Then in the evening we went to bible study and Kate and I had to endure about an hour and a half of screaming children! AHHHHHH!!! Matt came up later though and he was of some amusement..... as always. hehe "Do they cut the holes in Swiss cheese or does it grow like that?" Ahhhh the fun we have with him around.

So now we're to today! Not much has happened today really. More cleaning and I've been packing all my clothes and stuff. Oh! I found out yesterday that I am the best friend of one of my guy friends! That was an interesting discovery.

Well, today is a beautiful day! One for the books definitely. So I'm going outside now. Until next time!

Catching Up

Well here I am again. What a weekend! Friday was awesome fun! We went to a park for my friend Danni's (Shannon's little sister) birthday. We ate hamburgers and hot dogs and me and another friend Hannah played on the swings and sang as loudly and obnoxiously as possible. Then we went hiking in the woods and got very wet and muddy and we got caught in the rain. Then we went back to Danni and Shannon's house and played cards and watched movies and hung out. We didn't get to bed until 2!!


Saturday I was soooooooo tired! I hung out at home all day, doing chores and watching Lucy and then my family and I went to my Grandma's for a family dinner for my cousin. She's going to Florida for 9 weeks to learn how to tell anyone you come in contact with about Jesus. I'm excited for her!


Sunday was amazing! I went to church as usual and then my friend Matt suggested we all (me him, Kate, Garrett and Stephanie) go out for Chinese food after church so we did! hehehe I stole his keys while he was getting a drink and he didn't notice until it was time for him to leave. :) Then my friend Kate and I took Stephanie home and Kate's mom took us to Bath and Body Works and Starbucks! Then we went to her house and hung out for a few hours before going back to church for family night. Then I came home, watched a movie and went to bed.


So now it's Monday and we are all getting ready for See What I've Done Night. That's where the Co-op I go to does a talent show type thing and there's singing and skits and all kinds of stuff. I'm singing two songs, one with all the high schoolers and the other with Shannon (which I told you about a few posts ago). I just spent an hour and a half straightening my hair so I'm hoping I will look at least tolerable for this evening. Now it's lunch time and I'm starving! Business

I'm posting now as I won't have time later. Not much happening right now. I'm going to a birthday party tonight at The Little House on Poem Lane. I'm trying to finish a story for my friend as part of her present but we'll see.

It should be fun though. I'm looking forward to it! Well, most of it anyway.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow

Phew! What a night! Last night we had bible study and I was planning on blogging when I got home but there was a storm and the power went out! So much for yesterdays post. Oh well! It was a pretty bad storm though! Lots of wind and rain and thunder and lightning. Thank God I'm not scared of thunderstorms! So yeah, this morning I'm sure I woke up in Oz! :)

Ok, now to the updates. I finished all my homework yesterday!!! So I'm officially on summer break! Oh yeah! Then I went to bible study (as I said earlier) which was fun thanks to Kate, Matt and Ben! I love those guys!

Today, I slept in a little bit and took my time getting ready for the day. Then I watched a movie and folded LOTS of laundry. Then mom and I are going to run errands in a little bit and Grandma Jeri's coming for dinner. Fun stuff!

Unfortunately I have no deep thoughts for today. Well I'd best get to cleaning my room. Ta ta!

Anticipation

Well today was fun! Went to The Little House on Poem Lane for singing lessons which were good. Then I got to hang out with Shannon while waiting for my mom. Also, today was our last tutoring!! It made me kinda sad but I was glad at the same time.

So with all that, I had a very productive day today! Got all my Geometry and Spanish homework done!! YAH! Now I just have to finish Chemistry. :P Yuck. Oh well. I got good grades on my Chem test, my History final and my Spanish final! That made me happy!

I have three days of school left! And I'm leaving for Florida in 12 days!! Ocean here I come!!!!

Monday of Madness

AHHHHH!!!! Last day of Co-op hence the last week of school!! Here's a couple things I've learned this year: God will hold you up through all trials, no matter how trivial. Parents are easily irritated when stressed out so tread carefully. Acids donate Hydrogens while bases accept them. The sum of the exterior angles of a polygon equal 360 degrees. Don't loiter in the coat closet on pain of reprimand. So yeah, that's the short of it. Now let me give you the long of it! hehe

As some of you may know, I've been struggling this past year with my self image. I compared myself to others and a voice in my head would say "You aren't pretty enough. You aren't smart enough. You aren't witty enough." etc etc. I also struggled with not having any guys like me. I saw my other girlfriends get boyfriends and have a blast with them and all the sweet things they did for them and I longed for that. This year, God has showed me that He thinks I'm beautiful! He made me exactly as He wanted me and He loves me like no one else ever could! And the best part is....... I am content!! God has fulfilled my desire for that love with His own amazing love and now I know, my God's enough for me! His love can't be replaced by man's artificial and temporary love. So now, my heart is at peace! No more pain, no more tears. Of course I still struggle sometimes but those are the times I draw extra near to Him and in His arms, I find comfort. So yeah, that's what I learned this year. I will keep on dancing with my Heavenly Father, trusting that someday He will let Prince Charming cut in.

Sunday of Surprises

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY to my beautiful mom!!

What a wonderful day! Pampering mom into a good mood that she keeps for the next week. I love it! We did some fun stuff for my mom! We got her pictures, movies, books, a bird feeder and of course.... chocolate! She's been all smiles today. I like smiles

Grandma and Grandpa are over for dinner and we just finished eating hamburgers and watermelon. Yummmmm. So now the grown ups get to talk and the kids scatter until dessert. I think we're having brownies and ice cream.

Church was good this morning. My dad preached about Agape love. You know, the kind of love that is always looking out for others, never for ones self. 'Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes and always perseveres. Love never fails.' ~ 1 Cor. 13:4-8 I want to have that kind of love toward people. No matter who they are, no matter their situation in life, I want to love them as Christ would love them. And thankfully He's ready to help me out with that!!

Saturday of Slack

Today has been quite boring really. I slept in, folded lots of laundry while watching 'Nim's Island' with Maisy, cleaned up the house and wrote a poem. Very tranquill, very quiet, very peaceful Saturday. So since that's pretty much been my day, I'm going to let you read a poem of mine (one I wrote a while ago). It's one of my favorites. :) Enjoy!

A Look Back in Time

Phew! What a day! Lots and lots happened today!

I ended up going to The Little House on Poem Lane and spent a lovely afternoon with Shannon and her sister Danni. We ate lunch and Shannon and I practiced our song "Sisters" for our Co-op's talent show in a week. That should be interesting.

Then we hung out and I watched Shannon and her BF, John, do Shannon's history project. It was a model of Queen Hatsheput's Temple but SOMEONE didn't cut the board straight so it turned out lopsided (good job John ;)). Anyway, fun afternoon.

Then we all came to Maple Grove for the History Review party! That was not fun to say the least. But it was good to hang out with all those friends! And pizza is officially the best food EVER! So we reviewed most of our history vocabulary words and then watched some of the Martin Luther movie. I kinda liked it but the others got bored so we stopped it in the middle. I'll have to finish it later.

Now it's about 10:30, a pretty quiet time at the Ruble household. My parents and the younger three are abed and Garrett has a friend over (I think they're playing video games). I love nighttime! It's such a good time to think and pray. I just love going out and looking up at the stars and just thinking what a wonderful God we have! When I see all those thousands of twinkling stars in the sky, it amazes me to think that He set each one in it's place. It makes me want to sing and the only song that comes to mind is 'How Great is Our God'. I LOVE that song! So now as a dark blanket covers the sky, this song is running through my head and I guess there's only one thing I can say. HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD!!!!

Friday of Fun

Ok so I'm posting now since I don't know if I'll get a chance to later. There's a whole lot planned for today! I have a bit of school and then I'm helping my mom clean the house for the party tonight. Yes there's a party at Maple Grove and if you'd like to come study History Vocabulary Words with us, come crash it!!

So lets see................... school, cleaning oh! I may be going to The Little House on Poem Lane. But that depends on what I can get done. Then the History class comes tonight and they'll be here pretty late so that means probably no writing and no blogging. :( Sadness! Ah well.

Thursday of Thoughtfulness

Well here I am again. The week's almost over and how glad am I! Did you know that God made the weekends as an apology for making us get through the week? (Thanks Kate ;)). So yeah, one more day to endure.

What did I do today? Ummm....... school. I did my day of Spanish homework and then my weeks worth of Chemistry homework! It makes me happy to be done with that! :D Oh! I only have one more week of school! YAH! *does a happy dance*

Ok so now to the title of this blog. Thoughtfulness. Eh, maybe thoughtfulness isn't the right word. Perhaps daydreaming is better. What if this were like that? What if that were like this? Ah me, the things we think about. What do I think about? Well alot of things. School, the future, my friends, my story, why the sky is blue...................... ok not really but you know what I mean. Lots of things! Lately I've been thinking about relationships. I'm going through some tough times with my friends and though some have endured, some haven't and it makes me sad. Too many are still so uncertain, hanging on the edge of a knife, sitting on a see-saw. You get it. Anyway, I've been praying so much about these relationships and I knew that God has a plan for each and every one but I hope that with every friend that drifts away, a new one will appear to take their place. But I'm leaving that up to God.

Also, something else I discovered. I found that I don't like riddles and I don't like people who I don't know very well asking me personal questions. Not fun.

So tonight my dad is taking me and my siblings (not the youngest of course cause she's too little) to dinner and then to get stuff for my mom for Mothers Day! It should be fun! I'm excited. Especially since I don't have to worry about school. Aaaaaahhhhhh. Then hopefully when I get home I can do some writing.

Oh wait, did I tell you that I was a writer? Oops, sorry about that. Yeah, I love to write! Fictional stuff and poetry. Maybe sometime I can post a poem on here and show you. Anyway, right now I'm working on a book called 'The Secret Quest' and it's coming along pretty well! The plot is basically about a boy, Kendrick, who hears about a plot to overthrow the wonderful Queen Edelmira of Gladenholm and, upon telling the queen, is sent on a quest to find out what's going on in The North Country. So he and his two companions, the lovely Sage and the scatter-brained Darius, embark on an epic journey across Gladenholm's land. It's turning out pretty good at actually! I have a really good start on Chapter 5 and lots more ideas. The only trouble is..... can I get it on paper fast enough? hehe

Wednesday of Wonder

Why wonder? Eh, I thought the title was kinda cool. :) So today has been pretty uneventful. This morning I did my work out routine but switched it up by going for a run afterwards. It was so nice outside! A cool breeze, the birds singing, the mist lying low over the fields, aaaahhhhhh. By the time I returned to Maple Grove, I was ready to begin the day and get out of the rain. Yes it was raining.

The rest of the day I did school. Geometry and Chemistry are not a good combination I find. Tonight I'm going to The Stream for bible study and I'm going to be stuck up in a room with a whole bunch of little kids. But I'll have some friends there too so hopefully it will be bearable. We're going to write a story called "The Monkey Butler" so it should be interesting! I'm looking forward to it. Then maybe when I get home, I can do a bit of writing on "The Secret Quest" but we'll see.

Well, I must be off. Time to get ready to go!

Tuesday of Treachery

That's right, you heard me........ treachery. Why? Because I got hardly any school work done today! That's why! What's that? Why didn't I get much school work done today? Well let me tell you.

Tuesdays at noon I go to The Little House on Poem Lane (Shannon's house remember?) for my singing lessons. I wish I could sing well! My friend Shannon has a beautiful voice and I aspire to someday sing like her. Anyways, I was there for an hour and a half.

Then in the afternoon I go to an elementary school to tutor a group of little second graders. Mostly it's just helping them with homework (math and spelling). It's very enjoyable!

So what did I get done today? Well, I did two days worth of Spanish homework and some studying for an upcoming History test but that's about it. I hope that tonight I'll be able to get some writing done for my book!! But we shall see. Mom and Dad are off on a date tonight so I get to watch the little kids. That should be fun.

A Start

Hello! Well this is my first post. As you've probably guessed, I'm a pastor's kid. My dad's the pastor of Living Streams Community Church and let me tell you, being a pastor's kid is hard work!

First, I have to be happy ALL the time! Second, I need to be supportive ALL the time! Third, I am at church ALL the time! That's right, I'm at church Sunday morning, Sunday night, sometimes Monday night, Wednesday night and any other night of the week that my parents decide to go.

But being a PK also has it's advantages! I get to meet a whole bunch of people of all ages! Also, lots of people invite the pastor and his family over for dinner so I get to eat alot of great food! :) And I get to know stuff about stuff before other people even know there was something TO know!! It's great!

So I guess if this is going to be my online journal, I should probably start with the basics. I'm a teenager, Junior in High School and the best part? I'm home schooled! YEAH BABY!!! My family consists of me, my mom and dad, two brothers and two sisters (I'm the oldest). So yeah, we live in a big brick house surrounded by maple trees on quite a large bit of property. My grandparents live next door. hehe So in this blog, I'm going to name things and refer to them throughout my posts. My house is called Maple Grove (cause it is in one). My church will be referred to as 'The Stream' and my grandparent's house will be called Hilltop Manor (cause they also live in a brick house which is kind of on a hill). Very often, I go to my friend Shannon's house so her house will be called "The little house on Poem Lane".
