Curve-balls

What. A. Week! It's gone really fast but so much has happened! Unfortunately too many of it was the not so good things. *sigh*

First off, I lost my job. So as you can probably imagine, that freed up my week a whole lot. Next, I didn't score high enough on my math test Friday to take Finite Math (the class I need to transfer to IUPUI). Soooo I now have to take a prerequisite class to get there. So today, I now have another class on my plate as well as the inevitable looming job hunt that I'll take up later in the summer. *sigh* Sometimes, I wonder what God is doing but I'm trusting that He has a plan and I'm praying that He will provide me with the strength for this next semester (especially for this math class) and with a good job. As Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." He's driving this ride, not me. 

Now that all the icky stuff is out of the way, I did have some high points this week. I got all my homework done so I have today and tomorrow off (besides reviewing for Bio)! Also, I've seen Dearest Carl quite a bit this week which helped my mood immensely. He's pretty fantastic. :) And on top of all this, the sun came out! Which reminds me of this song!

So, after a productive week with it's blessings and curve-balls, I can say that God is good all the time and He will take care of me! Cause He will. :)

Week Of Study

Ladies and gentlemen, fasten your seatbelts and please keep all hands and accessories inside the moving vehicle at all times, thank you. Please enjoy the ride we like to call.... Life. 

This week... oh my goodness! One Spanish test to study for, one Spanish test to take, one English peer review to write, one blog post and three replies to write, one math test to study for, two Biology study guides to complete, two Biology tests to study for, four afternoons of work, cousin's bridal shower to attend, possibly having a study date with Dearest Carl and somewhere in there I have to eat and sleep. Or maybe I could just skip those....

Ah, finals. Finals week. Even more stressful, the week BEFORE finals week. The studying, the cramming, the horrible eating, the late nights, the long days, the droopy eyelids, the neglected family and friends, it's all a packaged deal. And then when you emerge from the classroom at the finale of your last final, you dance around everywhere for the next week and a half.... well after sleeping away a day or two that is. It'll be great once it's over but in the meantime, I'm going to get my study on! Let's do this!

Lessons Learned

Well, after I posted yesterday, my day went downhill. However I did learn a few things. They are...

1. Don't cry over broken windows.

2. Always apologize, even if it wasn't your fault.

3. Your siblings can make you smile more easily than you think. 

4. Sometimes God's presence feels like a warm blanket... and is one of the best feelings in the world.

Today is Good Friday, a day to contemplate all that He did for us, for me. He was whipped, taunted, forced to carry a heavy cross up a hill and then nailed to it... all because He loves me! I hope you get to taste His love today, my dear reader.

Going Crazy

Eek! I sincerely think I've lost my mind! Why? I painted my toenails blue!!!! I have NEVER done that! Ever! I'd say it's pretty official. I've lost my marbles.

I have to say though, I have been pretty productive. I got my English paper written as well as my Spanish essay (thank you Google Translator!). The only problem is.... I still have so much to do! And I'm not complaining really. Its all good stuff.... well.... okay, excepting math, it's all good stuff. Easter and mime and candy and family and Dearest Carl and being reminded of how Jesus conquered the grave! All in one weekend! Yeah, it's gonna be fliptastic. :)

Productivity, Homework and..... well more homework

I'm getting things checked off my To Do List left and right! Today I got signed up for a math test that should get me into the math class I need to take. I also returned my last rented textbook AND got my dad the Ivy Tech sweatshirt he's been asking for. I figured Easter was the perfect opportunity since I forgot to get one for his birthday. :) Yeah, productivity is nice. 


Guess what! Only three weeks of school left!!!! However this being the case, I'm also going to be freakishly busy but not just with school. School wise, I have a political essay and English position paper to write, three discussion board posts, a Spanish quiz to study for, a Bio presentation to put together and give, two Bio study guides to do as well as those two tests to study for, my math test to study for.... and I think that's it. THEN I have two mime practices this week, working Tuesday through Thursday, seeing Rachel Tuesday (FINALLY!!!!), Good Friday service, working next week and my cousin's bridal shower next Saturday. Oi! I'll be glad once it's over. I am reeeeeeaaaalllllyyyy looking forward to summer!!!! 


Meanwhile, I get to sit here and laugh as the cafeteria gets emptier and emptier every week. Silly people. Dropping out and not coming to class. I do not understand how you can get away with skipping class and then take all your tests and still pass your class! Blah. Silly people.

Pride And Prejudiceness

Hello once again my lovely readers! Lately, I've been re-watching my all time favorite movie, Pride and Prejudice! Not the newest one mind you. The 1995 BBC six hour version (aka, the only version worth watching). I just love all the character's intricacies and the deep plot and progression of certain character's during the movie. I notice something new each time I watch it! 


Anyhoo, today I unearthed a site I found a looooong time ago called "Pride and Prejudice Paradise" and it contains a list called "You know you watch too much P&P when..." Very funny and I wanted to share some of my favorite signs with you! So carry on good reader!

- Six hours no longer seems like a long time. (Cause it's not!)

Confessions Of A Writer

The past few days, Dearest Carl has asked me a few questions about seemingly random things and I've tried to answer these questions as best I could. Well today I figured out that they all have a common link! The answers have to do with me being a writer! 


This being the case, I have compiled a list of things you need to know about writers that will hopefully help explain some of my quirky ways. I'm dedicating this list to my wonderful boyfriend as well as any of you out there who are friends with, courting, dating, engaged to or married to a writer. Hopefully this will help you as well!

10 Things You Need to Know About Writers 

1. We don't have a constant flow of inspiration. When we complain about having writers block, it is in fact a legitimate impediment. But when inspiration does strike us, it strikes hard and fast and brightly! We could possibly be writing something brilliant!  

2. Our favorite game is Scrabble. However that should be no surprise to you since working with words is our specialty.  

3. There are books and movies we might like but we can't tell you why we like them. Truth is, we just love a good plot! Whether it's adventure, romance, tragedy, suspense or just a heartwarming tale, if it has a good story, we will probably love it.  

4. We use words to express ourselves. When we have a problem, we have to talk it out to solve it. When we have a strong emotion, writing about it helps to get it out.  

5. Kind of in accordance with the above, we tell others we love them through words. We love writing letters and long e-mails and stories and poems for and about those we care about.  

6. We have words to spare! Many journals and blogs and clever status updates on Facebook are common among us writers. 

7. WE READ!!! And we love it! We probably have a stack of books by our bed that are numbered in the order we want to read them..... if we aren't reading them all at once that is.  

8. It's inevitable that we will at some point correct your grammar, change your word choice or fill in the blank for you. Get used to it. 

9. We are fabulous editors. Most of us actually like to read other's work and help them correct it! However editing our own stuff, not so much.  

10. We are rarely struck speechless. If you ever get this response from a writer, give yourself a pat on the back!

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Why must it always rain on a Monday? The one day I have to go to class and I'm walking to and from my car and getting very wet in the process, umbrella or not. It's rained the past two Mondays! Yeah. Not fun. However you know that saying everyone repeats in April? "April showers bring May flowers." I guess this is true. I mean, we're seeing it already! Daffodils, violets, dandelions, everywhere! Sooooo I shouldn't complain. Besides, here's one subject that references a song I know directly and I get to post it! :D



Now then, what have I been up to that you should know. Not much really. The routine is pretty regular. School Mondays and Wednesday mornings, not a lot of homework, working two to three days a week, hanging out with Dearest Carl whenever we both have time (and even when we don't ;) ), normal average and pretty good. 


Out of the norm? Well mime practice is on Thursday nights and though we've only had one practice, it went quite well! Maisy and Lauren are almost as excited about it as I am which makes for some awesome miming! It's better when those involved love what their doing. At least that's what I've discovered. Anyway, this week, I'm doing homework with Dearest Carl today, hanging out with Shannon tonight, working and mime practice tomorrow, possibly seeing Rachel Friday, having Easter dinner with the family Friday night and who knows what Saturday. There. Boringness over. 


How then, a song. Ah! I know. Here's is the song they used as the signal in Inception (for any of you who have seen that movie). It's actually quite pretty! And it's in French! And I want to learn French! Anyhoo, here you go! Enjoy!

Cluttered Thoughts

I have so much on my mind right now that it would be impossible for me to adequately put it all down. And anyway, I think some of it I'll keep to myself. But here are some things I've read and listened to lately that are really good and I wanted to share them with you!

Young ladies, we aren't made to live lifeless lives. It's not our only job to get married, have kids, cook and keep a clean house. God gave us so many gifts and we can shine so brightly for Him if we choose to use them! 


The second thing is something for you to listen to. This is something a friend sent me and I found it very convicting and most definitely worth sharing. Please please please ladies, listen up!



Going to a community college, I see so many young ladies flaunting themselves about in clothes that are less than appropriate. It makes me sad! Not only for my Brothers in Christ who struggle to stay pure but also for those girls. Even if they know what they're doing, the fact that they don't feel confident enough in Christ to dress modestly is heartbreaking! How I want to go up to each one of them and say "Guess what! God thinks you are beautiful! He made you so He ought to know!" And not to say that I don't struggle with this mentality either. It's hard for us girls to watch TV or look at magazines without being bombarded with the images of perfect women in clothes that flatter them, however unflattering to the male mind. Oh, and shopping? Talk about difficult! But no matter how hard it is, dressing modestly is worth it because in doing so, you are glorifying God!

Oh Yeah!

So today I completed my Annotated Bibliography as well as my Exploratory Essay for my ENGL 112 class! I am now starting in on my Bio Study Guide. And I thought my productivity deserved a song! So here you go! Keep smiling!

Feelin' The Pressure

*sigh* Well, a wonderful weekend has come to an end. It truly was fantastic! Saturday I went shopping with Mrs. Watkins, Rachael and Bekah and then, after dropping my stuff off at home, went back to their house with Carl. We spent the evening organizing his clutter (which we made some very good progress on by the way!) and talking and laughing and watching Horatio Hornblower. I came home that night with a plastic frog named George and a smile on my face. Yesterday was great too! Shannon and Jess came to church so I got to sit through a fantastic service with them. Then after church, my family went out for lunch with my grandparents which was lovely! I love my family. :) When we got home, I took a nice nap before heading over to Becky's house. We went to see Jane Eyre last night which was a fantastical movie! Great acting, great plot, great soundtrack, definitely one worth buying. It was fun. :)


Nooooow it's Monday and boy do I have a load this week. First, I have to get that silly Biology paper written! HAVE TO!!!! I also have an annotated bibliography to do as well as an essay to write for my English class. Fun huh? On top of this, I'm back working at the Daycare Tuesday through Thursday, I have a date with my mentor Tuesday night, Mime practice starting up Thursday night and a date with my mom on Friday. EEK!!! At a time like this, there is only one song that fits with life. So turn up the music, play it loud and dance away!



I'll make it! I WILL survive! However you probably won't have another post from me this week. Just warning you.
