I've had a lovely day today! Just in case you were wondering. First of all, happy birthday to my wonderful father! What a blessing to have you for a dad! I love you more than words can say!
So, for my dad's birthday, we took him to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. He had NO CLUE! It was awesome! He came down the stairs after getting ready for the day and we were all sitting there in our jackets and shoes. He eventually figured it out. It was so nice to have breakfast together as a family. I can't remember the last time we did that.
When we got home, my mom had to run to Wal-mart for groceries so Lucy and I went with her. We had a fabulous time riding the cart around the store (yes I rode too) and singing our lungs out while searching for the items mom sent us to find. I just love my little sister! We got back and I helped put all the stuff away before fixing lunch. Gourmet ramen noodles. ;)
After lunch, I took a Biology test and worked on my Lit. homework for a few hours. Then I ate dinner and Garrett and I went off to babysit at church. We were there for half an hour and then dismissed because no kids came so we returned home. As I got out of my car, I saw a butterfly glide past me! I love butterflies. Anyway, I got to talk to Joe this evening! Highlight of my day! We had a great conversation and now I'm in such a good mood that I doubt anything could spoil it! After we finished talking, I watched some Anne Of Green Gables and ate some of my dad's birthday dessert (blackberry cobbler! yum!).
Speaking of Anne, you gotta love Ms. Anne Shirley! I can kind of relate to the world of daydreams she lives in. Sometimes my head can be pretty high up in the clouds. We're talking like the nearest galaxy up there. One question she asks Matthew in the beginning caught in my mind and I've been thinking about it today. "Would you rather be divinely beautiful, dazzlingly clever or angelically good?" I think I'd rather be angelically good and here's why. A person who is divinely beautiful will of course think about their appearance all the time. That's called vanity and that's a sin. A person who is dazzlingly clever would naturally look down on those who aren't as clever as they are. And no one likes a snob. A person who is angelically good may be tempted to play up their goodness but I imagine that if you're angelically good for the purpose of glorifying God, you wouldn't flaunt it. I only wish I was angelically good. Ha! Not even close. But that's my reasoning.
It's such a beautiful night and I'm sleeping with my window open! How I love spring! Until next time!
