Marriage On The Mind

Yup. I've got marriage on the mind. Why? Well just look around! It's everywhere! Really! My cousin is getting married in May and being in the wedding as well as part of the family, I've been privy to much of this preparation. My mom is helping with her bridal shower and I hear about so many of the details. Today sitting at Starbucks doing homework, there were two girls sitting at the table across from me looking through wedding magazines. After they left, another lady sat down talking on her phone to someone about bridal shower preparations and whatnot. Everybody's twitterpated!!! Okay... possibly me included....


But honestly, I'm glad God created marriage! And it's a beautiful thing! He loves it! He made it for our own good and pleasure! Just look!

I totally forgot to give you your countdown yesterday! We are now at 6 weeks! 6 weeks until summer sun, babysitting Blacksmith and Skunk Monkey, reading books I WANT to read, bike rides, watching the sunset, long walks, ice cream with Zach and Joe, stargazing, skirts and flip-flops, late night movies, driving with the windows down, Saturdays with Carl, car washing, swinging at the park, hiking and swimming, hamburger dinner nights, laughs with the fam.... I'm not excited at all. ;)

Sunshine, Happiness and Snapple

Ah. Here I sit at school, wasting time before my Bio class starts. I found a table in the sunshine and I have a Snapple Peach Tea and a good week ahead of me! Yeah, life is pretty darn fliptastic. 


I have to tell you about yesterday though! My church went on a field trip to Imani, an amazing inner city church. We had a GREAT time worshiping together and fellowshipping and eating dessert. They're so energetic! It's so much fun to watch them worship! My hands were sore from clapping so much afterwards. Great Sunday. :) 


Now then, this week should hopefully be very productive. First off, I have off work this week cause the school is on Spring Break!.... YEAH!!!!!! :D :D :D :D....... Anyway, along with the usual homework, I have to write a Bio paper this week (or at least get a lot done on it), hang out with my siblings, choreograph the Easter mime, smile, make a cheesecake, soak in the sunshine, spend time with the most awesomest boyfriend, dance around my kitchen.... speaking of my kitchen guess what! My house-sitting days are done as of today! I get to go sleep in my own bed and eat and talk and laugh with my family! Oh how I've missed them! Especially my mom and Garrett. They are probably the best listeners on this whole earth and the best part, they actually give good feedback unlike the two cats. So I will gratefully hand in my house-key and return to my oh so wonderful home and family. 


For now though, I'm off to finish some homework and eat lunch. But before I go, here is the happiest song I know of. Enjoy!

Victory!

I'm aliiiiiive!!! Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I did in fact make it through the week. Surprised? Me too. Let me outline it quickly. 


I finished all my homework Wednesday night which was very nice! I spent Wednesday evening babysitting Miss Adventurous. Then Thursday after putting her on the school bus at 8 in the morning, I had the rest of the day to myself until she got home in the afternoon. We ventured to Yogi's for some frozen yogurt and spent the rest of the evening cuddled under a blanket watching Benji. Friday was freeeeeezzziiiiiing cold! It actually snowed some! But snow or not, Miss Adventurous wanted to go to the park so off we went. We spent probably an hour or so there before coming home to some Spaghetti-o's and goldfish crackers and Saturday afternoon cartoons while braiding countless doll heads of hair. Once her parents got back and I was free, I spent some time at home before going to Carl's for dinner (Friday night is pizza night! :) ) and a lovely evening with him and his family! 


Today was loverly! I woke up at 9:30 to sunshine and blue skies. After a quick breakfast and doing some chores, I was off to babysit Little Blue Eyes! That girl is absolutely adorable (see above picture)! She was good for me the whole entire time I was there! Ate, slept, played with me, cried minimally, talked to me, shared her toys with me and all in all, loved on me. :) Yes, cute as cute can be! When I got home, another adorable someone came over to see me! Yup, Dearest Carl of course. :) He stayed to watch Runaway Bride with me which is in fact a chick-flick. Isn't he wonderful?!


So now I am thoroughly tired out after a long but good week and after claiming victory over all my goals and aspirations this week, I can smile myself to sleep. :) But first! A song!

Storms

One thing I love about Springtime is the thunderstorms. The electric lighting, roiling clouds, booming thunder and pounding rain just reek of God's majesty. And then the peace that follows when the storm passes. The steady drip drip drip of the rain off the roof and trees, the birds chirping, the receding thunder, the smell of the wet earth, a reflection of His peace. At least to me. 


And that's what I need right now, His peace. See, there's this storm I'm going through and the more I reflect on it, the heavier it weighs on my heart. I've been praying about it a lot lately and I would ask for prayers from you also, dear reader. I would greatly appreciate it.

Sunshine, Blue Skies And Octopuses

It's an absolutely beautiful day in the neighborhood ladies and gentlemen! Perfectly cool weather, sunshine, blue skies, slight breeze and the birds singing our Creator's praises. I'm sitting here in my own living room at 4:00 in the afternoon, my homework done, listening and half watching Carl tune our piano (yeah, best boyfriend ever!). My noble steed (aka, my bike) is outside on the driveway, tires pumped up, shined and polished and ready to go for a spin! As soon as Carl gets done that is. :) Life. Is. Good.

Ladybugs And Countdowns

Welp, Spring Break is over. I'd say it was a pretty good break though! Lots of friends, late nights, chick-flicks, chocolate and pizza, crazy cats, shopping, straight hair, sleeping in, red shoes, the high life baby. :) 


Now it's all over though and we're back to the grindstone. BUT! I'm done with my Saturday class! Instead of that, I'll be picking up an online writing class for the next 8 weeks. That's all we got ladies and gentlemen! 8 more weeks and summer will ensue! I'll put a countdown at the bottom of this post. 


House-sitting is fantabulistic! I love being able to go to bed when I want, listen to music or watch TV when I want, come and go when I want, play piano when I want. It's GREAT! It'll be nice to have the quiet when I have to do homework too! The cats miss their family though. One of them follows me around the house all the time. Oh! And the house has been infested with ladybugs! It's kinda scary....

Spring Busy

Yes I meant to say "busy" and not "break". Why? Cause I'm probably busier this week than I've ever been this semester! Though I will say, it's all good stuff. :)


Monday I spent the day with Lucy, doing girly stuff and then Dearest Carl came over for dinner and to watch Psycho. Tuesday I packed and packed and worked and watched movies with the siblings. Today has been fantabulous! I got to sleep in and I finished packing this morning. Then after lunch, I got together with Zach, Joe, Dearest Carl and Joe's friend Grace. It was quite fun! We sat and talked for quite a while and then the Heady boys, Grace and I walked around the mall and talked and joked. Laughing is good. :) After that, I went to dinner and Starbucks with my lovely friend Katie! She and I have been friends since forever and we had a great time catching up, talking about life. When she dropped me off at home, I got my stuff and now I'm at my new home! Well, okay, my new home for about two weeks. I'm house sitting for some friends, keeping their two cats company. It's quite nice! I think I'm going to miss the quiet when I get home. Or maybe not...

Happy At 9:30 am!

You know it! It's only 9:30 and already it's been a fantabulistic day!!!! Here's how it went down. 


I got up at 6 this morning for my last Saturday morning class this semester. That in itself is a reason to smile! I got there and we were handed back our quizzes and papers and stuff. While I was looking it all over, I heard the teacher say something about a student writing an excellent paper and her desire to use it as an example for her other classes if the student would give their permission. Well.... I flip to the back page of my paper for my grade to discover.... that excellent paper was..... MY PAPER!!!! And I didn't think it was that good when I wrote it! So either I'm a really good writer or Ivy Tech has really really low standards. I'm inclined to think the latter. Anyway, of course I handed back my paper after I took my test and told her she could have it. And I got home by 9!


So I'm done with my Saturday class and now I'm officially on Spring Break! On top of that, I have a fantabulous day lined up ahead of me! What you ask? First, a completely free and easy day! Then this evening, I'm off to darling Becky's house for dinner! Oh, and it's raining which means I get to wear my boots for some puddle jumping! :D Yippee!!!

People Pleaser

I hate this quote. I really do! Why? Because I'm a people pleaser. I want to please all of the people ALL of the time! I want everyone to be happy with each other and me and things to be perfectly pleasant. But unfortunately life doesn't work that way. You CAN'T please everyone all the time because sometimes, people will just decide not to be happy with whatever you do! There is hope though! 


In my devotions this morning, I found this passage in Proverbs:

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man. ~ Prov. 3:3-4


Ah ha! So all I have to do is be loving and faithful and God and everyone will be happy with me! (Love... common life theme I think?) Yeah, people won't be happy with me all the time but that's okay! At least God will be pleased with me and I think that matters more than anything.

And March Marches In

It's almost here! What you ask? Well let me give you a few hints and see if you can guess! Sunshine, blue skies, birds singing, Frosty Boy opens, one week of no school, flowers blooming, rainy nights, puddle jumping, jackets, walks, leaves budding on trees.... got it yet? No? Ok fine I'll tell you. It's SPRING!!! Well... technically Spring doesn't start until March 22nd however in my book, it's Spring. And it makes me ever so happy!!!


I don't have too much to tell you otherwise really. School has been going ish. I'm almost done with my Saturday class!!! :D :D :D This Saturday is our final and then I'm on Spring Break! Booyah baby!!! Well.... I'm considering writing a paper for Bio over Spring Break however I'm not positive if I want to do that or not.... We'll see. I do plan on having a bit of fun though! Maybe a girl's weekend, probably working, some Starbucks, walks in the park and of course hanging out with Carl Dearest. :) I'm quite looking forward to it! :D
