Haircuts, Coke and Biology

Here I am again! I just finished a Biology test and found I had a little time. So what do I do? I decide to blog. And on a beautiful day like today too! I think somethings wrong with me.

So, I started Co-op yesterday which was awesome! First period I have Worldview. Teacher: my mom. Students: Me, Shelby, Alison and Aaron. What fun. Second period is Advanced Biology. Teacher: Ms. Sabrina. Students: Me, Shannon, Alison, Erin, Clarissa and Kristen. Now that class really IS fun! Third period is Study Hall with Becky and Robert. Fourth period is Drama with pretty much the whole Co-op. It's going to be a good year.

Today I got my hair cut! It's a little tiny bit shorter and I had layers put in it. I love it!! It's so curly and bouncy and amazing! Then today I did Composition and Biology for school. I might actually be able to write tonight! OMG!

So, schedule for the rest of the week. Wed. I have school, then work, then off to church for the Church Dedication at 7. Thursday I have school, then work, then the youth group is coming over to plan family night. Looking forward to that! Friday I have school, then work, then maybe swing dancing with my dancing class. Saturday is catch up day assuming I will have school to catch up on and then I'm babysitting for the Middletons in the evening. I love those kids!

Lights, Camera, Action

What a week! Sorry I haven't been keeping you up to date! I've been SOOOOO busy. Being so late, I'll try to give you the quick in and outs of my week.

First, last Saturday was awesome fun! We went hiking and Matt complained the whole way. Then I spent the night at Kate's and we had a blast! Sunday was church and I just hung out at home for the day.

Monday I had my first job interview! It was at Zion Lutheran down the road from my house. And would you believe it, at the end of the interview, the lady says "Well, I guess I'll hire you now." THANK YOU GOD!!! So I'm working at the after school daycare there Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 3 to 6. I get paid $7 an hour which is pretty good. Add that to what I get from cleaning Angie's B&B and I'll get a good amount put in savings pretty quickly! And hopefully I will also get a car soon!!

Tuesday I did school, nothing so very exciting. Wednesday I did school and then went to work. Then I went to BRCC to babysit for some dinner thing. Another $25 closer to college. Then today I did school pretty much all day.

Tomorrow I have to write my essay for Lit. and finish writing my Bio outline. Then I have to work. Saturday is Garrett's birthday and Mom and I are planning to go shopping. Sunday is church and then I'm going out to lunch with my family and Grandma and Grandpa! Monday Co-op starts. I'm kinda ready for it and then again, I'm not. I miss everyone though. Tuesday I have school and I'm getting my hair cut (again)! Then comes Wed., Thurs. and Fri. which I can already tell you contain school, work and more school. I really hope that other things will come up because life will get monotonous pretty quickly.

Fun Stuff!

Today was pretty much awesome! First, I woke up at a whopping 7:30!! Then I went for a walk after breakfast and didn't get to school until 11. Therefore, it took me almost all day. Advanced Bio......... yippee.

After school, I ran to Walgreens to get Dr. Pepper, Gummy Worms and Chocolate. Loaded up with all my goodies, I went to Kate's and we ate them all! We got to hang out for a few hours and then I went to dance lessons. Tonight we learned to Tango!!!! It's so much fun! Zach (our teacher) told us that it was a more sensual dance than the other's we've been learning. But the class was all girls tonight so it was ok. :) Slow, slow, quick, quick, slow and so on. And since we were such quick learners, we got to learn some fancy shmancy stuff! 'Twas much fun!

So that was my day! Tomorrow I'm going to Turkey Run State Park with my church! Kate and Matt are coming. Woot! It's gonna be so much fun! Then hopefully Kate and I will be spending the night at either her house or mine. We'll see.

Hey all! Today was pretty boring. I did school all day. My mom's Worldview class (which I am a part of) came over today and we watched our movies for that class and took notes. Big woop. Then I worked until dinner on my Lit. and Advanced Bio.

Worldviews, Picnics and Austen

Here I am again! Today was awesome! I woke up at 7 again, had my coffee and got an early start on homework. I did a whole lot of worldview stuff today. The guy in my book talked about how America teaches us to read a book and get our own lesson out of it. So technically, we never all read the same book! We should be looking for the author's meaning instead of inventing our own. It was very interesting stuff! Anyway, it's amazing what you can accomplish when you have the proper motivation! I was done by lunch!

Then I made grilled cheese sandwiches and went to Kate's house! We had a picnic and walked around and had a fabulous time hanging out. Then I came home and fixed dinner (sausage on spaghetti and salad) while my mom went shopping.

I just came from watching a movie called 'Lost in Austen'. It's about a girl who gets transported into Pride and Prejudice, switching places with Lizzy Bennet. What I would give! Anyway, there's been some problems created and things that she's had to figure out. It's VERY interesting so far. In fact, I think I'm going to go watch more of it now! Until tomorrow!

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Well, today was fun. I actually woke up at 7 this morning! There is nothing better than a cup of cream and sugar with a little coffee. So, I got ready for the day and by 9, I was working hard on my school! Well........... maybe not so hard. I was laying on my bed reading my Worldview Intro. It's alot to take in! I'm really excited about that class, even if my mom IS teaching it. :) I also worked on my AP Bio a little.

Then came lunch. Leftover Chinese rice and chicken. Yum! Then I got to watch Indiana Jones (the first one)! And yes, it was for school!! I get to answer questions about it tomorrow. After that, I went out for a quick bike ride with Maisy. It was almost too hot for it but exercise is a good thing! Next I went next door to my Grandma's, intent on grabbing a Dr. Pepper and running back home again but Grandma wanted to hear all about HandyCamp so I ended up staying for about an hour and a half.

When I got home, I ate dinner with the family, helped my mom clean up the kitchen and then me, my mom and dad watched the rest of 'The Incredible Journey of Mary Bryant'. It ended well but it was quite sad. Then I made popcorn and we all watched 'America's Got Talent'. And now I'm here!

Oh, and why the title? haha Who knows. Maybe someday I'll actually come up with an interesting title that applies to the post. But while we're on the subject, here's a random song:

First Day

I started school today! My first day of my Senior Year! WOOT! It makes me very happy!! Classes: Worldview, AP Biology, Composition, Literature and Drama. Then some Memory curriculum and SAT study on the side. Gosh, sounds like a meal! :)

So I got all my books out and organized today. It's gonna be a tough year but it will be good. I will definitely be growing my prayer life this year. Without God's help, I won't be able to do it. Here's a song kinda sorta not really about that.

I also got to take a nap today!! It was, and I quote the famous Kate, "As epic as WWII." HAHA I love Kate.

Finally Home!

What a week! I haven't been home in ages! This is going to be a really long blog so you might as well grab some popcorn and a pillow and make yourself comfortable. Here we go.

As you may remember, I left Monday for HandyCamp. All that day was spent sitting in Orientation. Oh joy. It was very informative but VERY boring. Then in the evening, Becky, Garrett and I got a bunch of people to play Travel Spoons. That was fun!

Tuesday the campers arrived and we got them all settled in. My camper, Lorena, was blind and had CP and slight autism. She also used a walker so I walked backwards almost the whole week. At first it was really hard to connect with her because she brought her roommate, Lizzy, and was always wanting to sit with her and talk about her. But after a while we became pretty good friends.

The rest of the week went pretty quickly. Wednesday we went swimming and had a costume party and a clown show in the evening. Thursday we went bowling and had a dance. Friday we went swimming again and then had our worship service that evening. Then comes Saturday and the closing program and everyone went home!

Now for my thoughts over the week. It was probably the hardest of my life really. Lorena would get worked up over some things and I had to find ways to calm her down. I was not only stretched physically but emotionally and mentally. Toward the end of the week though, she got a little bit better........... or rather, I got better. :) Here are the things I enjoyed the most. First, the worship times before meals and bible study. It was so good to be able to just sing out and be crazy! Everyone had their own way of worshipping God and it was so cool to watch!! Second, all the companions over the week were amazing! I wish I could have thanked each and every one of them for every chair that was moved, every door that was held open, every pat on the back and every "You're doing a great job." They were SO encouraging and ready to jump up and help me and Lorena throughout the week and I made alot of new friends. Thank you God for Facebook!

Alright, moving on. Saturday afternoon I went to Jess's house to help her watch her siblings while her parents were gone at the race. We watched Escape to Witch Mountain and I ended up falling asleep on her couch for 2 hours. Oops. Then we ate pizza for dinner and watched High School Musical 3. Why? Who knows. We got to bed around 11:30 ish and stayed up for an hour talking (well, I was talking and she was laughing). Another oops.

This morning we woke up at 7, made it to first service only two minutes late! I think both of us almost fell asleep during my dad's sermon. Second service we sat outside and talked as usual. We had quite the group today though! Me, Jess, Kate, Matt and Steph (and Gavin but he's not exactly a teen yet). Ben was absent........ again.

After church I had to go to the Bed and Breakfast to clean. I love doing that but I need to remember to bring my iPod next time. I cleaned 2 bathrooms, swept the entire upstairs and made 5 out of the 13 beds.

I got home about 4 (FINALLY) and watched Nanny McPhee with my siblings. Then we had pizza for dinner and now I'm here writing this! Phew! That was alot! But there you go. That was last week. Tomorrow school starts. Senior year! Woo hoo!!!

IT'S AUGUST!!

Oh my gosh! It's August!! What many things have happened!

First, yesterday. I woke up at 6:45 and went with Dad and Garrett to help clean the church. We were there for a few hours (dearest Kate gave up a few hours of sleep to come help) when the drywall people showed up and Dad sent me, Kate and Garrett home. Well, technically I'm not supposed to be driving people yet but, with permission from my parents, I guess it's ok! I drove Kate to her house and then me and Garrett went home. We had pizza for lunch and I was just hanging on Facebook when my mom comes in and says "Dad wants you back at church. And you need to take Gavin and Maisy with you." So I got to make yet ANOTHER illegal drive up to church. Then I spent a few more hours cleaning some more and then came home for a delicious dinner with my family. Grandma Jeri and my great Aunt Pat came over to eat with us. After we ate, I thankfully was able to escape the discussions about my family's issues and go to Kate's. We went for a long walk and talked alot which was very good. Then I came home and went to bed.

Today was church as usual. Woke up at 7 and I didn't even get a chance to have coffee! So I drove to church in a fog though I got there alive. I was supposed to teach first service but there weren't any kids so I was able to sit in the service and then hang out with the teens outside in the loverly weather second service. Then I came home and went next door to my Grandma's for dinner. Steak, corn on the cob, salad, watermelon and french fries. For dessert, cheesecake, strawberry pie and ice cream. Yum! Then I drove Garrett (again, illegally) to church to meet up with the teens for the cookout at the Ostendorf's! That was a blast! We had burgers and fruit and oreo dessert. I taught Jess and Kate how to Cha Cha and we played James Bond (also called Indiana Jones) and Speed Scrabble and Toss Up. It was VERY much fun!! Then I drove Garrett home and as we walked in the door, my dad hands me a $20 bill and says "Want to do an ice cream run?" So out Garrett and I go again, this time to Marsh. Of course we came back bearing goodies and I feel oh so grown-up now. :)

Tomorrow I'm leaving for Handycamp. I won't tell you what it is so I'll have something to blog when I get back. I'll be back Saturday but I probably won't have time to blog until Monday. That is....... if I don't sleep for 4 days. School starts next Monday. Ugh. I'm not ready!! Just a little more time! And I'm a SENIOR!!! How does this happen?!?
