Days of Our Lives

What a day. It's weird how one thing can ruin your day which otherwise would have been pretty good. This morning I woke up and my dad yelled at me (yes, yelled) for sleeping in. 8:00 woo hoo. That right there ruined my entire day.

Mom left with the three youngest on a field trip for the day and Garrett and I were left home alone which was probably a good thing. I got all my worldview and bio homework done before lunch which was also a good thing. We had pizza for lunch and then I spent the afternoon cleaning and doing laundry. I also decorated the kitchen for Gavin's birthday on Sunday (we're celebrating Saturday). Yet another good thing. Then Ms. Marci brought us ice cream and took me to work. Another good thing. Work was fine, your average day and I got off half an hour early. Another good thing. My mom was in a good mood when I got home so that was definitely a good thing. I couldn't have handled her in a bad mood. Then we had mime practice which went well. Kate brought us cookies which were fabulous. After practice, Kate and I had a long talk with Jess about family problems which wasn't a good thing but it was good that we talked about it. Then I came home and here I am, laying on my bed in the dark, listening to the Pride and Prejudice soundtrack while watching this. So there's my day for you.

Let's see. Tomorrow I have to work on my Bio Outline which will probably take me most of the day. Then I have to work which is usual for Fridays. Then Saturday we're having Gavin's birthday breakfast and giving him his presents (I got him a Nancy Drew computer game) and I leave for the Renaissance Fair with Shannon at 9. Looking forward to that. Then Gavin's birthday dinner of steak and potatoes (typical). Sunday is church and I'm working and then it's Monday. Ugh. I don't even want to think about starting another week right now.

It's October today. Some of the leaves are turning bright red and yellow, but some are just turning brown. Lovely. The weather is cooler which I love and we have our fall decorations around the house. Also, we have a gallon of apple cider in the fridge and fresh apples!! I love driving down our road and hearing the wind rustling through the dry corn. I can't wait until Thanksgiving!

Hearts, Rainbows and Pink Prancing Ponies

Yes, you read that right. Hearts, rainbows and pink prancing ponies. That's my day today! I don't know why but I'm in a fabulously good mood! Even if it is gray and rainy outside.

I woke up this morning and just felt like praising God for all the blessings He's given me. A healthy body that works perfectly. A wonderful mom and amazing dad that teach me, protect me and love me. Four insanely awesome siblings who make me laugh every day. The blue sky and sunshine (even if I can't see it today). The turning leaves and fall breeze. Apple cider and fresh apple pie with ice cream (my dessert last night). My desire to be a wife and mother. My crazy wonderful friends (Kate especially). The opportunity to be homeschooled. My two jobs, fab colleagues and great bosses. My Worldview class. Music by Tchaikovsky and Andrew Lloyd Webber. My church and mime team. My curly hair and blue eyes. God's amazing love for me!! I could list lots more but I'll spare you dear reader.

I love my life and I'm so thankful that God put me where He put me. And that's all I have to say about that.

Philosophy, Bones and Relationships

Surprised to see me back so soon? I am too. But I finished my homework for today and this spare minute finds me here blogging. Thought I'd update you with this week's past, present and future.

First, the Ghost of Christmas Past. Yesterday was a better day than I thought it would be! Co-op was droll (of course) and talking about Postmodernism in Worldview Class thoroughly scrambled my brains. Then, in Advanced Bio, we watched short videos on Youtube about Lobotomies which thoroughly scrambled my stomach. Thank goodness I hadn't eaten breakfast or I would have skipped lunch. After lunch though is what mattered. I had a fabulous talk with Shannon! *audience gasps* Yes, that Shannon. We talked through our troubles and now we're pretty much back to normal! It's such a relief! Then the funniest thing happened. At dinner, my dad showed us the silliest song on Youtube and got it stuck in our heads so we showed him this:

Well, he watches it for a minute and starts doing the badger dance!! It was the best thing I've ever seen! Everyone was on the floor with laughter and I think we effectively got the song stuck in his head. HA!

Ok, now to open the Present. Today I've been working on homework so far. I read the assigned for worldview which was talking about Christian Philosophy. A little over my head but I'll discuss it with mom later. Then I took my Bio test which was mostly labeling bones. I think I did pretty well on it so we'll find out. I haven't a clue what else is going on today so I suspect it will just be lazing around with the family. Good times.

Back to the Future! This week is pretty normal. School for the next three days. Working tomorrow and Friday. Mime on Thursday. Then Saturday I'm taking Garrett to lunch and we're going to the Remmel's for a while. Mrs. Remmel wants me to help her pick out a color to paint her bedroom! INTERIOR DESIGNING!!! Sunday is church and we have family night which we teens are directing. I'm so pumped to show everyone the movie we made. Hopefully I will have time to blog some more before then but we shall see.

Church, School, Work, Church, School, Work...

Seeing a pattern? That's what my life is like at the moment. Every week is that same. Sunday is church and then I work at the B&B. Monday is Co-op. Tuesday I get as much school done as possible. Wednesday is school and then work. Thursday is school, then mime. Friday is school and work again. Saturday is either hanging out at home or doing something with Kate. So yeah, pretty redundant. But oh well.

Today was awesome though! There was church as usual and because of a nursery mix-up, us teens got to hang out in there and watch the two little kids during second service. Then Matt drove me to work again. An hour into it, he came and said that the rest of the ladies weren't ready to leave for another hour and asked if I wanted to go get something to eat so we ran to Rally's. The lady at the drive-through asked what "flavor" drink we wanted. We thought that quite funny and laughed about it for the rest of the day. Then since he left his iPod Touch at church with Garrett, he ended up staying, helping me make beds and taking me home. We had a good discussion. I guess there's some girl at school that he's crazy about. Mmmmmmm. :) Maybe I tease him too much but that kid is like my little brother.

So tomorrow is Co-op and I have no desire to go. I don't fit in anymore. Shannon and I aren't really the best of friends and now she has Erin and Rissa Hunter and Kristin Mitchum to hang out with. They're all sweet girls but they are very clickish. Usually I end up hanging out with Becky and Hannah which is ok but they're a little clickish too though they're best friends so it's understandable. So here I am, a senior with a total of about 3 friends I see regularly. What joy. But I will say, they are good friends and I guess I'd rather have a few really good friends than a lot of acquaintances.

So there you have it. My life in a nutshell. Ok, maybe a very large nutshell. My new challenge, to find something to take me outside the nutshell. Until next time!

Weekend Experience

Oh wow. What a ride this past weekend was! I'll start at the beginning and try to get everything in.

First, we had the filming for Family Night yesterday. That went fabulously well! We got the whole thing filmed and now Garrett just has to put it together before the 27th. I can't wait to see it all in order. Then Jess and I went back to Kate's house for a sleepover. Here's where it all started.

Let me remind you, Matt and Jess have been officially "together" for a while now. Both have been complaining about never seeing or talking to the other and both were getting on me and Kate's nerves. Well, Matt told Kate and I that he'd be coming to get Jess to take her to a bonfire for a few hours which we thought would be fine. But Jess expressed a desire to decline the invitation. When asked why, she dropped the bomb on us. She told us that her feelings for Matt have faded and she wants to be just friends with him. Of course Kate and I said that she needed to tell him asap, but she phsyched herself into denial. At 9:15, he called to ask her if he could come pick her up. Kate and I urged her to say something but she told him no and hung up. It was about 9:50 before we convinced her to call him back.

The whole conversation took about a minute or less. After she hung up, she went into the fetal position on Kate's bed and Kate started crying (yes my dear audience, the great and powerful Kate was showing emotion). So I had to comfort them both and in the end, we all went to bed laughing.

Sunday, Jess was determined that it was going to be awkward. It wasn't though! They didn't talk at church but they never talked anyway! Then I had to go to Angie's to work and Matt drove me. We didn't talk at all on the way because his little brother was in the backseat but once we got there, we had a nice conversation. He told me that he was glad they broke up and he felt a lot lighter just not having that pressure to deal with. Therefore, I came home a lot lighter knowing that both of them are ok. I'm sure they will continue to be good friends. As for me, I never want to experience that again.

Well that was my weekend. I know I know, a bunch of high school drama but I had to get this all out somewhere. Being a homeschooler you'd think that I'd be exempt but unfortunately not. Well that's it for now. Until next time!

Fantasies

Well, here we are again my friends. You, me, and the good old computer blog. I wonder what you are doing right now. Are you sitting at your kitchen table or curled up on your couch? Are you listening to music or is your house completely silent? I'm snuggled up in my bed right now and, being very late, it's so quiet. But I supposed I should catch you up and blabber later.

My weekend was fabulous! My family and I had so much fun at the lake and I completely ruined my diet eating junk food. Especially Mrs. Ostendorf's Chocolate covered peanut butter rice crispies. Mmmmmm! We got back Monday morning and spend the rest of the day watching movies.

Tuesday was Co-op which went well. I got 100% on a quiz in Advanced Bio! I was so nervous. Anyway, today I did school, went to work and prepared for Senior Pictures tomorrow. I'm meeting the photographer at 4:30 and I have awesome new outfits! :) Friday is school and work again. Saturday we're filming the movie for Family Night which is going to be amazing! I can't wait! Then Sunday is church and I'm cleaning at Angie's again. And we're back to Monday.

Ok so now can I ramble? Awesome. I was thinking the other day, my life is amazing besides for just a few parts. What parts you ask? Well one is I don't have a car and it would be so convenient if I did. Two, my dad is playing matchmaker again and this time he's mortified me in doing it. So now I'm going to go live in Ireland on a remote strip of coastline in a small cottage.

I can see it now. A little dirt road running by the stone cottage with it's thatched roof. Vines hug the walls and the window boxes of yellow and pink flowers add color to the green shutters. Inside the green wooden door is a small entry way painted sky blue with a coat hanger in one corner and a mirror on the wall. To the right, the parlour, a cozy room painted again sky blue and filled with overstuffed chairs, books, pictures and a fireplace. To the left, the kitchen painted sunshine yellow. Cabinets line the wall, a sturdy wooden table stands in the center of the room and the windows look out onto rolling hills. Farther back in the entry hall is three more doors; one to the right, one to the left and one straight ahead. To the right, my bedroom, painted orchid purple with a brass bed and a comfy chair by the window. To the left, the guest bedroom, painted sage green with another brass bed and another comfy chair. The last door leads outside to the backyard. Going out, you see before you the sea. There is also a flower garden on one side of the door and a vegetable garden on the other. Stones lead from the door to where the grass ends in sand and there, they gather to form a little patio where two white chairs sit. So there you have it. That's where I'm going to live with my cats.

Too Long

Well my friends, say goodbye to the daily blog posts you previously enjoyed (or even didn't enjoy). I'm soooooooo busy right now and when I get a free moment, I'm spending it with family, friends and catching up with people on Facebook (I know, lame right?). But that's the long and short of it. I will do my best to post AT LEAST once a week though.

So, getting you up to date dear reader. First, school. It's going pretty good so far. Getting back into the swing of things hasn't been as hard as it was in past years. Drama class is my favorite with study hall coming in second! Also, I'm studying hard for the SAT coming up in November and as soon as I get that behind me, I get to start studying for a College Algebra CLEP test. Oh joy. But college costs money and passing CLEP tests take off classes which also take off money. Less money = less working = happy Casey! :)

Work is going fabulous! I love the kids I watch and one girl even "adopted" me as a sister. A few others have taken to coming in to give me hugs, even if they aren't staying after school. And the little kids are so adorable! Oh! I got my first paycheck this week! I won't brag about how much it was though. hehehe Cleaning at the B&B has never been better. I cleaned last Sunday and I have two more opportunities coming up this September and FOUR in October!! Talk about putting away some cash!

Next is church. Mime is starting up in two weeks on Thursday nights. We're performing Live Out Loud by Steven Curtis Chapman. I'm going to see if I can just teach this one and not have to perform in it. Depends on how many can do it. But I've got a good start and I'm so pumped to get it going again. I've lost count of how many people at church have asked me when we're doing mime again. I supposed that makes it a success. Along with mime is youth group stuff. We're doing Family Night again the last Sunday in September and instead of acting on stage, we're making a video! Three Spies and a Pirate is the title. We're filming it next Saturday. Regular youth group bible study is starting up soon and I think everyone is ready for the extra social time. What better group to hang out with than church friends right?

Now for the short term stuff. Tomorrow my family and I are leaving for the Ostendorf's lake house! They're joining us for Saturday and then we're staying until Monday sometime. Co-op's on Tuesday this week which will be weird to have to figure out homework stuff in 3 days. I work Wednesday and Friday this next week and Thursday I'm taking my Senior Pictures at the IMA. I can't wait! Then Saturday is filming and Sunday is church and cleaning and then we start all over again. But one day at a time. :)
