Productivity

Funny word, productivity. It can be defined so many ways. Or rather, the definition changes by person.

For example, you may say I was not productive today. I didn't get any homework done. I probably could have but I decided not to.

I however, would say I was quite productive today! First, I synced my iPod to my iTunes library which is something I've been meaning to do ever since my compy got a reinstall. Then I had that dratted doctors appointment. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be though. I really liked the doctor and how she was so talkative. We had a pretty good conversation about college and my hopes for the future. The only part I didn't like was when she had to draw blood. Bleh. It was a tiny needle but still. Afterwards, I took my checks to the bank which was another thing I'd been meaning to do for a while. When I got home, I went for a walk. Actually, I ran part of the way!! I probably could have run further but my bad ankle would have none of that. Anyhoo, then I ate lunch and then I folded laundry while watching West Side Story.

You've never heard of West Side Story?! Oh well let me enlighten you! West Side Story is a modern version of Romeo and Juliet. You have two gangs in NYC; the group of American boys (Jets) and the group of Puerto Rican boys (Sharks). They are of course mortal enemies. At a dance, Tony, an American, and Maria, a Puerto Rican, fall in love. You know, one of those soft music, foggy background, love at first sight numbers. Anyway, of course it's dangerous because of the difference of race. Finally the gangs decide to rumble. Tony tries to stop them and ends up killing Bernardo, Maria's brother and leader of the Sharks. Things pretty much fall into chaos and that's where one of my favorite songs comes in.

After this, Tony and Maria try to run away together and Tony gets shot and dies. The end. Lovely story isn't it? As Marianne says in Sense and Sensibility, "To die for love? How can you say so? What could be more glorious?"

When the movie finished, I finished cleaning up the kitchen, checked my e-mail and made amazing brownies. I mean, melt in your mouth chocolate deliciousness! They are fantastic! Best I've ever made I think. Now, here I am, writing to you.

So I have been productive in a sense. No I didn't get any homework done but I did lots of other things I'd been meaning to do. Well, there you have it. Until next time!

Compatibility

So I'm just gonna skip my day since it wasn't amazingly interesting.

I'm going to just continue to my thoughts on a conversation I had with a friend today. We were pondering why we were friends because we are so different. Despite our differences however, we are really good friends.

As you probably know already, I'm a social butterfly, pretty outgoing, easily excited, easily amused and all around a glass half full kind of person. My friend is pretty quiet, reserved, not easily excited, not easily amused and ready to be the pessimist of the situation. But somehow, we get along, even though we're not compatible. I guess that's what you get from being friends with a cockeyed optimist!

So I guess it doesn't matter whether you're compatible or not. It just means you can fill each other's holes and help strengthen each other's weaknesses. Until next time!

God, Rain And The Jabberwocky

Today was a pretty good day! Church was very good. I talked to Kate a little bit but things still stand as they are. She's not willing to even try to be friends with me anymore. But I've done what I can at least.

After church, Matt, Jess, Garrett and I got Subway for lunch and then headed to the movie theater. We saw Alice In Wonderland, much to the chagrin of some of my other friends. Matt complained but I know he didn't mind because he got to hold Jess's hand for two hours. It was quite an interesting movie. The basic plot is about Alice traveling through wonderland, trying to figure out how to slay the Jabberwocky. It's a dragon-like creature, pet of the Red Queen. Of course in the end she succeeds and goes home to grow up. I guess it's true that we can't stay in Neverland. Here's a song from the soundtrack (which was pretty good by the way):

After the movie, we dropped Jess off at her aunt's and Matt decided to go through the car wash (he was driving us). I always feel like a little kid when I go through the car wash. It's just magical! All the soap and bubbles and water. Anyway, then we came back to my house for a while because the rain ruined our plans to go to the park. The guys watched The Office while I hung out on my computer. About an hour later, we went to youth group. It was only me, Garrett, Matt, Jess and my mom. The other two girls who told me they were coming didn't show. We had a good discussion anyway, however short. When we got home, we ate pizza for dinner, I reviewed for tomorrow's quiz in Bio and now I'm here.

I've also been having some issues today keeping God first. I won't go into detail but that's been my big thought today. I'm here to serve HIM and follow HIM! My life is in HIS hands and what HE wants to happen will happen, all in HIS timing.

Bridesmaid Expert

And another good day today! I could get used to these good days!

First, I GOT TO SLEEP IN UNTIL 9!!!!!! Ahem..... ok, I'm ok now. After a whirlwind of getting ready, my mom, Grandma and I all went to get my bridesmaids dress for my cousin's wedding! The color is beautiful as is the dress! I can't wait! We also went to Olive Garden for lunch which was awesome since I haven't been in forever.

When we got home, I did some odds and ends around my room; cleaning up, writing thank you notes, getting ready for tomorrow, etc. On a whim, I decided to go show Shannon my new car! Except she wasn't at home when I got there so I just hung out with Danni and Keenan instead! It was quite fun.

I arrived home about two hours later to a mountain of laundry. While I folded clothes, Maisy prepared dinner (a new thing she's all excited about doing) and then we ate. After I cleaned up the kitchen, my mom, Garrett and I watched The Passion of The Christ. As if I didn't have a headache before, all that crying made my head pound. So now I'm here with a throbbing headache and I'm quite content. Yes, I know that's odd.

One thought for today. I was watching Ella Enchanted the other night and I was thinking, in most movies that contain romance, the guy goes absolutely head over heels, goo goo eyed for the girl. Does that happen in real life? Will a guy actually do whatever it takes to make a girl smile? Will he prioritize his time so he can be with her as much as possible? Will he think about her constantly? It happens in the movies so there had to be some inspiration behind the script. I don't know. No matter how much I'd like to believe it all to be true, I'm skeptical. But that's just me I guess.

A Very Good Day

Oh my goodness gracious!! Today was like the best day EVER!!!!!!!

First, I finished my homework for the week! That means I have a free and easy weekend ahead of me!

Second, I went to Shannon's for a couple hours today. We were there mostly for drama practice (we were practicing the songs) but ended up staying longer to watch P.S. I Love You. What a better way to spend an afternoon than hanging out with my most beloved insane friends?!

Third, our church's baptism service went VERY well!! Four people got baptized, one of them being my little sister Maisy! It was a great time of worship, fellowship and celebration.

Fourth... drum roll please................... I GOT A CAR!!!!!!!!!! *cue happy dance* That's right! This girl officially can drive whenever she wants! Well, kinda. But you get the gist. Drive myself to work, drive myself to babysitting, drive myself to mime practice, drive myself to friend's houses, etc. etc. etc.

*sigh* I wish I could sing like her. Anyhoo, I got everything done for school that I planned on doing. After lunch, my mom took us to Frosty Boy! :D I have to say, Frosty Boy is the definition of deliciousness. I also worked this afternoon and though I was closing, I got to leave at 5:30 because of the mass exodus of kids! Woot!

Oh what a day! It was absolutely wonderful!!

First, I went paging for the Senate today. It was very much fun! We got to stuff envelopes, go on a scavenger hunt around the state house and sit an hour and a half in the session! No interesting voting going on today though. Senator Siles and Senator Dillon are retiring so the other senators were just saying a whole bunch of good stuff about them and thanking them for their work. In case you're wondering, the picture is the stain glass window in the rotunda of the state house. It's even more gorgeous in real life!

When I got home, I ate dinner and took a birthday present to my friend Carl. It was nice to see him.... after 10 years. My dad went with me and we only stayed about three awkward minutes or so (my dad talked for two minutes and thirty seconds of that). Speaking of Carl, happy 19th birthday! After that, we went to church for the H2O study, for which Garrett and I babysit. We had two older kids and one baby. So while watching Night At The Museum 2: Battle of The Smithsonian, I got to rock the baby to sleep!

And it got better than that! When we walked outside after everyone had left, my eyes were met with the lovely twinkling of stars!!! They are ever so bright and if it wasn't so cold, I'd be out stargazing right now. But as it is, the ground is frozen so it wouldn't be very comfortable.

Yellow, Blue, Pink and Hakuna Matata

Who knew that the three colors in my title could go so well together! But I'll start my explanation at the beginning.

First, the sun came out today (yellow)!! It was so much warmer than it usually is! And if you could see the sun, you could see the beautiful sky (blue)! I got almost all my worldview homework done this morning. Then, for lunch, I had leftover Italian stuff that my parents brought home with them last night after their date. When Lucy went down for her nap, my mom and I ran some errands and got some stuff done that I'd been meaning to do for a while. One of those things was running by Starbucks to get coffee!! That gift card was burning a whole in my pocket. Except I didn't get coffee. I got a strawberry lemonade (pink)! Yum yum! When we got home, I cleaned my room and then had to go to work. I know what you're thinking and no I don't usually work on Tuesdays. But one of the girls is sick and I had to go fill in for her. We had 23 little kids!!!!!! And I was in charge of them all!!!! Needless to say, it was a VERY long three hours. I finally got home at like 6:15. Then my parents left for Maisy's basketball awards ceremony thing and I got to stay home and watch baby. We made popcorn and watched Ella Enchanted. Now everyone's back, baby's in bed and I'm here.

Springtime!

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to March! You have successfully made it through the dreary days of February and we will now be seeing some changes in our environment. First thing to go.... SNOW!!! OH YEAH!!! :D

So I had a pretty good day if you couldn't tell. Co-op went well. We watched a very intriguing video about ways to logically refute abortion in worldview class. Biology was spent going over our study guide and looking at slides of the inside lining of the stomach through a microscope. Half of study hall I spent practicing my solo and the other half I spent practicing the play with my fellow cast members who are in study hall with me. Drama was fun as usual. We didn't do a whole lot of choreographing the finale but we almost got another whole scene blocked!

When I got home, I dropped my backpack, exchanged my coat for a jacket and went for a much needed walk. The wind was a little chilly but the company was wonderful! There's no better place to talk to God without getting interrupted than walking down my street. As I walked, the songbirds heralded March's arrival. My grandma told me today that her daffodil shoots are beginning to appear. That means we'll have flowers soon! My favorite kind too! Also, I discovered that Frosty Boy opens today! Spring is officially on it's way and coming fast! I can't wait!
